Ed joined the Oasthouse team in 2020 and is responsible for building on the success of our Low Carbon Farming projects both in the UK and abroad.
Ed comes from a well-established agri-food family business and career in the Royal Marines. On the latter, he served around the globe including posting and operations in the Middle East, Far East, Great Lakes region of Africa and United States, where he worked as a Foreign Policy specialist in the UK Embassy in Washington DC.
He concluded his service commanding the Royal Marines Barracks in London and Royal Marines Reserve City of London. Following military service, Ed undertook an MBA in International Food and Agribusiness at the Royal Agricultural University School of Business and Enterprise. Ed also holds an MA in Defence Studies and is BASIS agronomy trained in Horticultural Crop Protection.
Prior to joining the Oasthouse team, he managed the UK’s largest soft fruit glasshouse complex in West Sussex.
Retired from Rugby, Ed still gets excited about the Six Nations and Bath Rugby’s fortunes, enjoys sailing and skiing and is an unashamed fan of American Country music.
